Canvas is the learning management system (LMS) for FISD that allows teachers to provide instructional support, class calendars, assignments, communication, and resources for students in a safe online environment. All FISD parents and guardians can log in to Canvas using their Skyward login, and they will be automatically added as a parent observer of their students' courses.
As a parent observer, you have limited permissions that allow you to see what is going on in a course and a calendar of assignments. You can view the Dashboard, course Syllabus, prompts in Discussions, Assignments, Files, Modules Page, Canvas Grades, and the Calendar. You can also communicate with the teacher and set your Notifications.
To access Canvas, you can use the link myfisd.instructure.com. You should not use your student's login credentials, and you will need to set a password for the Canvas system the first time you access it. The Canvas app is available in Google Play and the App Store for tablets and smartphones, while Windows devices use the browser.
