To create a Google Form, you can start directly from the Google Forms web app by going to docs.google.com/forms. Click on "Blank form" to create a new form, or choose a pre-made template to get started. Alternatively, you can create a new Google Form directly from Google Sheets by opening the spreadsheet, clicking on "Tools," and then selecting "Create a new form." This will automatically sync your form data with a new or existing spreadsheet.

Once you're in the Google Forms editor, you can add and edit questions by clicking on a form field. To add more questions, click the "+" icon in the floating toolbar next to your question box. You can also modify the question type by clicking on the dropdown next to the question field. Google Forms offers eleven different question types, including short answer, paragraph, multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown, file upload, linear scale, multiple choice grid, checkbox grid, date, and time.

Each question type has its own unique features and uses. For example, the short answer field is perfect for asking for small bits of text, while the paragraph field is for long-form text. The multiple choice field lets you list different options and have users select only one, while the checkboxes field lets users select as many options as they want. The file upload field lets respondents upload files that will automatically save in your Drive.

You can also customize your form by adding an image, using form logic, and customizing the form to match your branding. Additionally, you can use the deep integration with Google Sheets to gather data and mine it for insights without leaving Google Workspace.
